- 10:00Harbour check-in and briefing
Meet at the harbour, get fitted for mask, snorkel, fins and buoyancy jacket, and take the briefing on drift snorkeling: stay with the guide, let the current carry you, and the boat picks the group up downstream.

A short boat ride to the first stop, usually Toyapakeh or Wall Point depending on the tide, for around 25 minutes in the water over hard coral.
- 30:50Second site
On to Gamat Bay, where the reef drops off into a wall and the fish numbers are highest. This is generally the best site of the trip for anyone with a camera.
- 41:25Third and fourth sites
Crystal Bay and, if time and conditions allow, a fourth stop. Crystal Bay is the calmest and shallowest of the group and the easiest place to finish.

Back to the harbour with drinking water on board and a rinse for the gear.

About the Shared Snorkeling
This is the standard Nusa Penida snorkeling trip and the least expensive way to see the reef. You join a shared boat, and over two hours it stops at three or four sites on the sheltered north-west side of the island, where the water is clear and the coral is in far better condition than most of what is left around mainland Bali.
The usual rotation is Crystal Bay, Gamat Bay, Toyapakeh and Wall Point. Toyapakeh has the densest hard coral of the group; Gamat Bay has a wall that drops off steeply with good numbers of reef fish; Crystal Bay is the calm, wide, sandy-bottomed one that everybody can manage.
The current is the thing to understand. These sites sit in the Badung Strait, which moves a lot of water, so the guides drift you along the reef and the boat follows rather than anchoring. It is easy and it is the whole point of the technique — but it means listening to the entry briefing.
